Love First Aid Kit! Great Venue! Terrible Sound!
Unfortunately, the sound mix was terrible. The lighting and light show were fun. Spoon is a favorite, and we finally got to see them live. The band persevered through the heat and humidity, connected with the audience, gave an enthusiastic show, and seemed to have a good time.
The general admission format was good, closer, then farther back, it allowed us to move around to find good sight lines. Too bad the theatre did not have good air circulation- it was hot out, but absolutely steamy inside.
With a band like this, where the vocals and lyrics matter, I was disappointed that the sound was so poor. It was loud enough (maybe too loud in that small venue), but you could not make out the lyrics most of the time. I think the whole mid range was a muddy mess. It could be done well- the album mixes would be a good guide. Couldn't tell if the room acoustics baffled the sound people or what.
